Jay Massirman, principal of Urban Central, is the founder and President of Rivergate Companies, a management, investment, development and advisory firm headquartered in Miami, Florida. Jay has 30 years experience in the real estate sector which spans the capital markets, investment and equity raising sectors with an aggregate value in excess of $16 billion. Prior to forming Rivergate Companies, Jay spent 20 years with CBRE, a global real estate service provider. As a Vice Chairman, he was a perennial top producer and was actively involved in the sale and financing of more than 400 transactions of all product types including over 76,000 multifamily units.
Marc Chasin is the Managing Partner of Urban Central. Marc began his career with Rivergate Companies where he served as an acquisitions and asset research analyst. His current role at Rivergate Companies is in Corporate Development, where his efforts involve working in the various operations of joint venture partnerships EDEN Multifamily (development), Miami City Self Storage (development and acquisitions), and RKW Residential (property management). Growing up in Miami’s commercial real estate environment, Marc has extensive resources and connections in the built world. Marc holds a Florida Real Estate Sales License and a Bachelors in Finance Degree from Ithaca College.
Humberto Venegas is the CFO for Urban Central. Humberto brings over fifteen years of industry experience to the position. He established his local expertise with various Miami-based firms such as Newgard Development Group, CC Devco, and Related Group, developing a specialized knowledge of South Florida markets. Incorporating this experience with his skills in accounting, budgeting and financing. Humberto is responsible for cash management, accounting and reporting, coordination of tax returns and audits, establishing controls, project financing, budgeting, project analysis, draw requests and project level accounting. Humberto earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting, as well as his Masters in Accounting from Florida International University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Real Estate Sales License.
